ELLETHIC'S EFFECTIVENESS THROUGH SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH

The development of each of our cosmetics involves a process of creativity, research, experimentation, and verification of expected and achieved results. Developing a cosmetic means not only having a thorough knowledge of the function and structure of the skin where the product will be applied, but also knowing the chemical-physical properties, effectiveness, and safety of the raw materials intended for use in the formulation.

Every year, we strive to continuously improve and perfect our cosmetics, investing in the innovation of ingredients and formulas to ensure greater effectiveness.

The skin is the largest organ of the human body and acts as a protective barrier against toxins, mechanical stress, water loss, and participates in immune responses. Due to its bioarchitecture, based on five layers, it is difficult to effectively transport active molecules into the deeper layers of the skin.

To make a cosmetic product qualitatively effective, research is essential, studying all possible active ingredients that, acting on the surface and in the different layers of the skin, can support the claims of our cosmetic.

The search for the right active ingredient is therefore a fundamental phase of product development.
Active ingredients are chosen based on efficacy tests and are included in the formula at an optimal concentration so that they can be absorbed and have a beneficial effect on the skin.
Before being placed on the market, all Ellethic products undergo numerous tests to support the claims stated on the label.

The evaluation of effectiveness considers:

  • knowledge of the activity of raw materials and their mechanism of action;
  • evaluation of the pleasantness of the cosmetic product, through sensory analysis;
  • instrumental tests (objective evaluation);
  • usage and self-assessment tests (subjective evaluation);

The aim is to demonstrate the validity of the claim.
A claim refers to any information about the content, nature, effects, properties, or effectiveness of a product.

Effectiveness, in addition to being "measured," is also "perceived." The "perceived" cosmetic effectiveness refers to the consumer's evaluation and depends on the overall impact the product has on the individual. It represents the result of processing tactile, visual, olfactory, and emotional stimuli induced by the product, from the moment of choice and purchase, to its application and observation of the skin to grasp its benefits.

To evaluate the perceived effectiveness of the product, sensory evaluation is used, now considered a scientific discipline, which measures, analyzes, and interprets sensations perceived by the senses (sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch). Among the characteristics that indicate the quality of a product, sensory characteristics determine its acceptability by potential consumers. Real consumers are selected who will use the product twice a day and complete a satisfaction questionnaire to evaluate the product's effectiveness at different times of the study (immediately after product use, after 7 days, after 28 days, etc.).
